"An Ordinance to extend the power of Revenue Officers te arrest

without warrant".

1. The object of this Ordinance is to give Revenue Officers power

of arresting without warrant persons found committing er attemp- ting to commit or employing aiding er assisting any person to commit certain offences against the provisions of certain Ordi- nances. The offences in question are such as are likely to be met with by Revenue Officers during the course of their duties. 2. Section 1 is formal.

Section 2 gives the power referred to in 1 of this repert adding these powers te soctien 72 (1) (a) of The Liquers Cense- lidations Ordinance 1911 in which the duties and powers of Re- venue Officers are defined and by which section Revenue Officers are given authority to arrest without warrant persons found committing or attempting to cermit er employing aiding or assis- ting persons to commit offences against certain parts of The Liquers Consolidations Ordinance 1911.

3. The offences in respect of which, under the present Ordinance,

Revenue Officers are given like powers of arrest to those which they already hold under the provisions of the above quoted sac- tion of the Liquers Consolidations Ordinance 1911 are

(a) offences against the prohibited exportation of Military

Stores (Military Stores, Prekihition of Exportation, Ordi- nace 1862)

(b) offences against the carriage and deposit of dangerous

goods (Dangerous Goods Ordinance 1873)

(c) offences against the unauthorized sale or attempted sale

of liquors near ships (Ships, Prohibition of Sale of Li- quers, Ordinance 1886)

(d) effences against gambling (Gambling Ordinance 1891) (e) offences against the unlawful carriage and possession of Arms and Ammunition (Arma and Ammunitions Ordinance 1910) (f) offences against the unlawful sale of peisens and drugs

(Pharmacy Ordinance 1908.)
